Delorean – A band from Spain. The Basque region, to be exact. If you’re familiar with the work of Air France, combine their music with the vocal stylings of Animal Collective? Maybe? That was my first impression. Bonus points for making you think of “Back To The Future,” and for having an EP named after an old Formula One driver. See one of their videos below. Oh, and they’ll be @ Pitchfork this July.
Free Energy – Their debut album was produced by the great James Murphy of DFA and LCD Soundsystem fame, but don’t go into this expecting those classic dance floor jams that DFA has been responsible for in the past. Think ’70s. Think catchy, poppy rock ‘n’ roll. Now, you should be prepared for this! Oh, they’ll be @ Pitchfork too.
Frightened Rabbit – They’re Scottish, so right off the bat, there’s a pretty good chance that they’ll be good. Here’s a video:
