This weekend, XRT’s Saturday Morning Flashback rewinds to 1969, when Neil Armstrong walked on the moon (it was NOT a hoax!) and the Brady Bunch debuted on TV. [lastfm]Paul McCartney[/lastfm] broke millions of hearts (including Terri Hemmert’s) when he married Linda, the trio [lastfm]Cream[/lastfm] called it quits and another trio – [lastfm]Crosby, Stills and Nash[/lastfm] – began. A time before BP stations in America, when Standard Oil and other full-service stations sold gas for 35 cents a gallon. Richard Nixon moved into the White House, the war in Vietnam raged on, and protests grew larger.
The best part of Flashback is always the music, and we’ll play some classics as well as more obscure tracks from 1969. From Let it Bleed to [lastfm]Laura Nyro[/lastfm], [lastfm]Led Zeppelin[/lastfm] to [lastfm]Bubble Puppy[/lastfm], we’ll pack in a whole lotta music and memories from 8 till noon this coming Saturday!
