Great Big Congrats to you Terri! Proudly I can report that I’ve been right here with ya the whole 37 years…although I will admit, that in 7th grade I was kind of like ” they play some way out stuff on that station,…I dunno”. But in time I came around.

I heard the news today…oh boy!!! Congratulations, Terri, on being elected in the Radio Hall of Fame. This is awesome news.
I am so thrilled for you.
After returning to Chicago, many years ago, my life has been enriched by knowing you. Beginning with our memorable trip to Liverpool in 2003, followed by the annual the Fest for Beatles’ Fans, cheering you on, faithfully, at the Pride Parades, and your festive holiday parties in December, I hold you dear in my heart. You are truly one-of-a-kind.

I’m in tears – I feel like the world’s gonna be okay when a truly deserving, kind person is recognized like this. Thanks for using your gifts, Terri, in our great city and for bringing such life-changing music to us. There’s no one better at dropping a nugget of reason and tolerance in between mindless commercials. You are about the only reason I’ve stuck with XRT all these years (I like Lin a lot, too

A very well deserved honor…I rememeber hearing this incredible deejay that came on at midnight back when you started at XRT. You were always sounding like you were having fun. Played great music, and had the world’s most amazing voice. I left Chicago 4 years ago, and I miss alot of things about Chicago, but most of all Terri Hemmert!!

It seems hard to believe it’s been 37 yrs….and I’ve been there for all of them (remember when the commercials were all spoken-word?).
May we all Rock On together for another 37 and remember…with a true love of music, only your body can ever really grow old…….

I grew up listening to Terri. I consider her the “musical farmer” that planted the seeds for my love of the Beatles. (Which, I’m proud to say, I have passed on to my oldest child!)
I love that almost every time I roll in to the Chicago area these days I can still hear her voice on the radio and that she is exactly the same as I remember from my youth.
Congrats, Terri! I can’t think of a more deserving person for this honor!

It’s funny that this has touched me so deeply. It’s inspiring that you are recognized for being exactly who you are and living your passion with such a steady intelligence and warmth. It gives us all hope when someone so deserving is given proper acknowledgement. You served as MC for an AIDS charity event I chaired really early on. You did not hesitate. You were there immediately and with an enthusiastic heart. Only RHOF Downside: I think you’re in the same ranks as Limbaugh, now. Hope you don’t have to be hazed by Rush to belong to this refined club.
