Video: Mavis Staples Live at Lollapalooza
Photos: Mavis Staples…Some called it an inspired booking. Well, it certainly was inspirational. Mavis Staples, her sister Yvonne and her band of a few years now took the big, Budweiser stage at Lollapalooza at 2:00 in the afternoon today, Friday, and started out with an a capella gospel song. They followed with the riff heavy title track from their upcoming September release. Produced by Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy, who also wrote several of the songs including the title track, the new material was debuted in front of the receptive hometown audience.
