Bob Dylan Cleared In Massive 178 Pizza Prank

Photos: Bob Dylan Bob Dylan and his crew were recently cleared of any blame stemming from a prank in which 178 pizzas were ordered from an Amherst, MA pizza place. Apparently a man walked into the restaurant after a Dylan show on Nov. 20, flashing a backstage pass and claiming to be a member of his road crew, and ordered the huge quantity of pizzas for a supposed after party for Dylan and his crew. The man promised the pizza place a large tip and sent the pizza place employees to work on the large order. They finished the order, costing around $3,900, around dawn.
When the man never returned they called police, who at first accused Dylan’s crew of placing the order. However, after identifying the man on surveillance tape though, the cops were able to track him down. According to the Amherst Bulletin, a lawyer representing the accused (who was not identified) told the press that the man is sorry for the prank and will pay back some of the cost of the pizzas. According to spinner.com, the Amherst Police Department doesn’t plan on charging the man with any criminal offense.
