White Stripes Reissue Captain Beefheart Covers

Photos: The White StripesThird Man Records is releasing a special 7″ of the White Stripes‘ covers of three Captain Beefheart songs, including “Party of Special Things To Do,” “China Pig,” and “Ashtray Heart.” Third Man is releasing them exclusively to those who are on their mailing list and fan-club The Vault.
The 7” is part of the label’s First Quarter Vault Package, and also includes a double-LP of Third Man’s 2010 singles, as well as a 7″ from the 5.6.7.8′s. In addition to paying tribute to Don Van Vliet, who passed away in December, the package is being released to honor Sub Pop’s former VP of Sales and Marketing Andy Kotowitz, who passed away at the age of 37 last year.
As long as you sign up for The Vault before the end of January, you can receive the whole package.
