The home of David Schwimmer and Mary Zimmerman.  Joey Slotnik and Laura Eason.  Chris Jones of  The Chicago Tribune reported today that The Lookingglass Theater has won the 2011 Tony Award for Outstanding Regional Theatre.  When you consider their body of work and distinctive style, you are welcome to say, “It’s about time.”

lilka Lookingglass Theater Wins TonyTheir newest production The Last Act of Lilka Kadison begins June 1st.  Lilka Kadison, a Jewish teenager, escapes Poland as World War II is beginning.  She finds herself decades later an old woman surrounded by her son, a caregiver, and the ghosts of her past.  Celebrate the Lookingglass’  Tony by getting your tickets now.  The Lookinglass Theater is the fifth Chicago Theater to win this particular Tony following The Goodman, The Steppenwolf, Victory Gardens, and Chicago Shakespeare Theater.
