Little Feat in Lincolnshire July 13th

At the end of March, High Times Magazine voted Little Feat “2011 Best Jam Band/Indie Artist of the Year.” An interesting award since Little Feat was jammin’ long before Jam Band entered the rock and roll lexicon. They will be coming to the Chicago area for the first time since the death of their original drummer, Richie Hayward.
Last Halloween Phish fans gained a greater appreciation of the bad ass boogie of Little Feat when Phish chose to cover Little Feat’s landmark live album “Waiting For Columbus” in its entirety.
They did a stellar job, but you owe yourself a trip to Viper Alley in Lincolnshire, Wednesday July 13th to catch Little Feat rip it up with classics like “Oh Atlanta,” “Spanish Moon,” and “Dixie Chicken.” And as a Chicago d.j. I like to reach for “Cold, Cold, Cold” on those February mornings when the ‘hawk’ rattles your teeth.

Describing LF in Viper Alley last night as ‘tight’ is an understatement. I hope somebody recorded that show as it was truly special. 2 + hrs The jamming was perfect. This is the reason why fans go to live music shows. You can’t describe it – you have to feel it. To see and hear 6 guys work as a unit so it all fits and blends together. Acoustics in that room are better than headphones. I have seen 2 shows in YA (Kenny Wayne Sheperd and now LF) . Wow
