Chicago-native Mike Musikanto, known in the music world only by his last name, grew up listening to his father’s obscure records of Fraser, Debolt and Jerry Hahn—records that would later influence his folk, blues and Americana sound.

In 2009, the singer-songwriter released his debut album Ghost Pain, which earned him comparisons to Ryan Adams, Elliott Smith and Van Morrison. Musikanto is ready to release his sophomore album, Sky of Dresses next month on Grape Juice Records. The record’s single “Every Which Way,” is filled with folk melodies and tinged with Americana stylings, such as the accordion and harmonica.
