Last year, we reported that Dave Grohl would be making an <appearance as the drummer in the new Muppets movie, directed by Jason Segel, due out in November. And now, The Airborne Toxic Event, Weezer, Hayley Williams and more have been added to the list of KROQ artists/Muppets collaborators.

Disney is releasing the tribute to the Muppets on August 23rd, and it will feature 12 tracks by popular current artists putting their spin on songs the Muppets have performed over the years. For example,  The Airborne Toxic Event perform “Wishing Song,” which was originally sung by Gonzo. The album will be for sale in Starbucks coffee shops.

The album has attracted an impressive collection of artists to take part, as it also features other buzzworthy bands like My Morning Jacket and OK Go. It seems especially fitting that Weezer is included in this new “Green Album,” which was the nickname for its 2001 self-titled album that brought them such hits as “Hash Pipe” and “Island in the Sun.”
