Photos: City & Colour Perform… City and Colour is the recording alias of Ontario musician Dallas Green. If you think about that, it makes perfect sense: Dallas is the “city”, Green the “colour”. While Green’s other band, the post-hardcore collective Alexisonfire, has been self-described as “the sound of two Catholic high-school girls in mid-knife-fight”, City and Colour releases melodic folk rock using a wide variety of acoustic instruments, most of them played by Green.

Green’s debut album under the City and Colour name, Sometimes, gained universal critical acclaim in his native Canada, and won the Juno Award for Alternative Album of the Year in 2007. Additionally, Green wonthe Songwriter of the Year Juno Award in 2009, along with a nomination for Artist of the Year for his work as City and Colour. Two more albums have followed, including Little Hell this past June. The album debuted at #1 on the Canadian Albums Chart. Don’t miss this unmistakably talented artist this weekend at Lollapalooza.
