Photos: Phish Performs At The…The sign you may see on a lot of office doors this week is Gone Phishin…and after another great show at The UIC Pavilion Tuesday night don’t expect anyone to return home from this trip early. It started out like Monday…a beautiful Chicago day and a parking lot that would have made Marshall Field’s proud…oh wait is that Macy’s now…As many Phriends gathered and discussed the show the night before or looked for tickets for Wednesday nights finale they wondered what might the band bring out tonight. They would not be disappointed.
Phish opened the show with a upbeat “Dinner And A Movie” and ran right into “Ha Ha Ha.” “Chalk Dust Torture” was anything but and Trey’s solo set the stage for a hot night. “I Didn’t Know” was played for the first time this year and “Ginseng Sullivan” for only the second time. The set closed with the Rolling Stones tune, “Let It Loose”, only the second time Phish has covered this song. Set 2 Opened with “Down With Disease” and if you haven’t already downloaded it put it on your to do list.
Photos: Paul McCartney Live From…Maybe the recent visit to Wrigley Field by Paul McCartney inspired the band to cover “A Day In The Life” but no inspiration was needed for “You Enjoy Myself” to close out the second set. During YEM not only did we get the trampoline dance but Trey felt the funky groove of Mike Gordon’s bass and danced right along on stage. Monday’s 5 song encore was going to be hard to top but the three song set didn’t disappoint. “Slave To The Traffic Light” was well done and the crowd danced off into the night following a “Rocky Top” that would make any Volunteer proud. Two down…and one to go…hope to see you there.
