Photos: Phish Performs At The…Wednesday night brought a close to the 3 night run of Phish in Chicago for the summer of 2011. The setlists sounded as good as they looked so far and no one would be disappointed after Wednesday’s show. Wooo Hooo…that’s the first thing that came to mind after seeing this epic show, well the first words I can form into something…its hard to really get the point across with stuttering and mouth open wide pictures…
They opened with Colonel Forbin’s Ascent. The last time that was the opener was November of 1989. The energy inside the pavilion was electric. The first “Weigh” of 2011 made its way through after the often played Possum. “Bathtub Gin” followed “The Divided Sky” and it was one of the best I’ve seen.
The second set started with “Crosseyed and Painless” and it never left making its way inside all but a few of the second set songs. We took a trip into the homes of the band during Makisupa Policeman although Fish’s house wasn’t visited until the set closer “Run Like an Antelope”. Most of the second set had a very spacey jam feel to it. The songs played may not have been deeply explored but they didn’t lack energy and kept the crowd on its feet. The Encore had a sweet groove starting with Funky Bitch and the explosive Tweezer Reprise wrapped it up. A Phabulous 3 night run and a great time to be a Phan.
