Studio Session And Interview With Snow PatrolPhotos: Snow PatrolSnow Patrol is back with their sixth studio album, Fallen Empires. Out now as an import, it streets here in the U.S. on January 10.

Watch three brand new songs done in our studio from Gary, Johnny McDaid and Nathan Connolly. Gary also sat down and chatted with us about the new album. Snow Patrol will be doing a live concert, part of the Live On Letterman series on Monday, January 9. Get all the info here.

Instead of working on the album back in Ireland, the bandmembers headed to Los Angeles  and Malibu, Calif., for a totally different scenery, waking up each day to sunshine and warmth. With the exception of a few shows in Mexico with U2, they stayed off the road, off the stage and dedicated 18 months to the making of this record.

A major change for this album was that Gary Lightbody did not go into the sessions with demos. As a matter of fact, maybe due to this, he hit a writers block and started to panic. But soon enough, it all came together and they were off to making a super strong album.

“Called Out In The Dark”

Lyrics
It's like we just can't help ourselves,
Cause we don't know how to back down,
We were called out to the streets,
We were called out into the towns,
How the heaven's they opened up,
