 Watch Wilco, Nick Lowe & Mavis Staples Rehearse The Weight Backstage At Chicagos Civic Opera HousePhotos: Wilco At Civic Opera HouseChicago weather and sports teams are variable, but the architecture and music are consistently good and they came together when Wilco began their 5 night, multiple venue December residency of sold-out XRT shows at the storied Civic Opera house.

Despite some personnel changes over the years, Wilco is one of the most cohesive bands in the world. They can play any kind of music well, but all of their numbers, be they pop or progressive, can only be performed by Wilco, the band. Their encore with Nick Lowe and Mavis Staples was icing on the cake, but it wasn’t their first take.
