Hailing all the way from Austin, Black Joe Lewis & The Honeybears first caught our attention in 2009 with Tell ’Em What Your Name Is. If you missed this one, hit play on the song “Sugarfoot” below, and keep reading.

Black Joe Lewis is back with his newest album since 2011, entitled “Electric Slave.”

We don’t like name dropping BUT the album was produced by Stuart Sikes (The White Stripes, Modest Mouse, Cat Power) and John Congleton (Explosions in the Sky, St. Vincent, to name a few).

The album was recorded in Lewis’s hometown at Church House Studios in Austin, with a few tracks completed at Dallas’ Elmwood Studios.

Black Joe Lewis is set to release Electric Slave on Aug. 27 via Vagrant Records, but stream the full album free, now, in the link below.
