Local Anesthetic Playlist For Sunday, March 2, 2014 [Playlist & Free Download]

A recap of last night’s show; I went for the opening TWO tracks on Will Phalen‘s new disc The Dirt and The Air and The Grass because they blend perfectly together. Will’s release show is at the Hideout this Friday. Jodee Lewis‘ release show for Whiskey Halo was last night. You can check out more info about the show and the song we played, “Bright September”, at her website. I’ve listened to Akasha‘s “Lil Black Dress” about twenty times and more loudly with each passing. That song totally rules and it’s on the band’s new side, Joy Song. Yyou can hear it at the link below and again when I chat with lead vocalist Cosmos Ray on this upcoming Sunday’s Local Anesthetic. There’s a release event for Chicago Kindie Sampler at Lincoln Hall this Saturday afternoon at 3pm. For you non-parents, that schedule allows for naptime to be completed and all kids bright eyed and bushy tailed. Can’t say the same about the musicians, including Little Miss Ann (whose song “Can You Make a Circle” on last night’s show) but I’m sure they’ll do their best. The Future Laureates will join The Ivorys for a pre-SXSW kick-off show at the Sub T this Saturday night. Finishing off the show, approporiately enough, was The Wild Finish from their EP The Jacket. That was the show, Joe, and you can dig for yourself at the link below. Thanks for listening.
