I got my start at XRT as an intern, as have many of the fine people who work here. After an incredibly fun summer learning the trade, I worked in Promotions at the station for a few years, and somehow found myself lucky enough to be behind the mic. The most fun part of being a DJ at XRT is that I now get to produce something I grew up listening to. Growing up in the suburb of LaGrange Park, XRT plays in the background of my fondest memories. As a 90’s kid I burned through cassettes of The Cranberries, REM, Joan Osborne and the Smashing Pumpkins, and the first concert I saw was Oasis, with Jet opening, at the UIC Pavilion when I was 14.

When I’m not on-air you can find me at show, playing soccer, biking around town, or having a drink at one of the fine establishments in West Town. I like to have music playing in the back ground of whatever I’m doing, especially cooking, and consider myself an amateur vinyl collector. Working nights I’m also a caffeine fiend, and a big fan of coffee and green tea.

If I’ve learned anything from working at XRT, it’s that seeing a band live, that you’ve never heard of before, can be the start of a beautiful relationship, you’re never late to the party with a band that’s new to you, and a really good album needs some love before it clicks. You can hear me on-air overnight from midnight – 5:30 am, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and filling in on weekends. I also host the show ‘Deep Digs at Dawn’ every Saturday morning from 6:30 – 8:00, where we dig deep into the XRT Library and hear some live recordings, unique covers, and lesser heard songs from the XRT Artists we all love.
