More than five years have passed since Bon Iver fans heard a new studio album. The indie folk band’s last release Bon Iver, Bon Iver came out in 2011 and won the band (fronted by Justin Vernon) a Best New Artist Grammy. Despite dabbling in collaborations and other material in the subsequent years, the follow-up to that self-titled breakthrough has been long elusive. Now, it looks like the band will premiere its next album at the Eaux Claires festival in Wisconsin this Friday.
Last month Bon Iver shared a cryptic YouTube video tagged “22 Days,” which many interpreted to signal an impending release, reports Billboard. On Twitter last night, Vernon confirmed that the Eaux Claires set will contain all new music, which sounds like an album’s worth of fresh Bon Iver to us.
hey for anyone who wants to know… Bon Iver will be playing a set made of NEW music this august @EauxClairesWI—
