Tonight on Blues Breakers we honor Chicago blues legend Luther Allison. Luther was born in August on the 17th in 1939 and died in August on the 12th in 1997. His live performances were legendary partly for the intensity with which Luther played and equally because of how long his shows were. His live performances were well captured on his 1999 release, Live In Chicago, so we’ll be sure to touch on that as well as studio recordings. Plus, the red hot Chicago blues scene continues to pound out new blues records. This week we’ll hear from locals Lurrie Bell, Joanna Connor and Matthew Skoller from very new records, and from the new one from Bobby Rush, too, as well as a number of current records. 9pm-10pm tonight on 93XRT and
