Concert Webcast: Tune-Yards Performs On The BlueCross BlueShield Performance Stage WATCH LIVE
By Marty Rosenbaum

On the same night that Pearl Jam brought joy to thousands of fans in Chicago, a more emotional affair was taking place in Kingston, Ontario as The Tragically Hip was performing their final concert.

Eddie Vedder took some time out from Pearl Jam’s show to salute The Hip and frontman Gord Downie, who was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. The two bands share a strong relationship with one another, having crossed paths in Seattle while recording music.

Vedder told the Wrigley crowd, “I want to send [The Tragically Hip] our energy from our gathering to their gathering up there and wish the best to Mr. Gord Downie, we love you.”

Check out video of the tribute above with the band segueing into “Light Years”.
