In case you missed the news, which is hard to do since it was everywhere, Apple introduced the iPhone 7.

Undoubtedly, this created a stir. After all, the iPhone is one of the most popular cell phones out there now. With the release of the iPhone just weeks away and the frenzy that ensued following the announcement, it got me thinking… What would announcement would be an even bigger story?

There’s a myriad of topics that would fall under this category (aliens exist! The Cubs won the World Series! Deep Dish pizza stinks!), but we’ll stick to music for this one.

5 Musical Announcements That Would Be Bigger Than The iPhone

1.) Talking Heads Announce Reunion

This one is self-explanatory and would be the reunion to end all reunions.

2.) Desert Trip Goes On Tour

The massive October festival (dubbed “Oldchella”) already made waves when it was announced that Paul McCartney, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, and Roger Waters would be appearing together throughout the weekend. The destination festival takes place in Indio, CA (hence the Coachella reference), but would surely fill arenas, festival grounds, and anywhere else should a tour take place. Chicago is a nice, central US location, just saying…

3.) An All Hologram Music Festival

There’ve been a few holograms to make public appearances at concerts so far. Why not hold an all hologram music festival? Imagine Jimi Hendrix, Frank Zappa, Prince, David Bowie, and other famous musicians gracing the stage once again. Better yet, combine the holograms with the surviving members of the band so you can have a “reunion” of groups like The Beatles, Nirvana, and more.

4.) U2 Takes Over Every Digital Device

It’s only a matter of time before U2 releases their follow-up record to Songs of Innocence. Instead of taking over Apple products, what if we all wake up to a new U2 album on our digital device. What a world that would be!

5.) The Inaugural Haters Music Festival

Headlined by The Smiths, The Police, Simon & Garfunkel, Oasis, and The Beach Boys! Location is still TBD, but rumored spots include any confined space with inaccessible transit options.
