Next week on Blues Breakers join us for the world premiere of a recording paying tribute to Otis Clay. Produced by Dave Specter with an all-star line-up of Chicago blues artists this song will become available late this fall with proceeds from the sale going to a favorite Otis Clay charity, the Chicago Coalition for the Homeless. Also next week our Artist of the Week will be the great soul/blues singer/performer Bobby Rush who, by the way, has a very good new CD just out.

Yesterday on Blues Breakers we featured B.B. King as the 91st anniversary of his birth is coming up on the 16th. We also made sure to play some Buddy Guy as he is being honored this week by the City of Chicago with a Fifth Star award. The award will be presented by Shemekia Copeland at a free event at the Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park this Wednesday beginning at 7pm. Guy King and his band will perform. Read more about that here:

Here’s everything we played with notes.
