If you were watching the Cubs game last night and didn’t have a huge smile on your face when David Ross cracked a home run, something is wrong.
Affably dubbed “Grandpa Rossy” by his teammates and fans, Ross celebrated his final regular season home game at Wrigley Field last night in grand fashion. From standing-ovations to curtain-calls, fans showed their appreciation for Ross all throughout the evening.
Perhaps the biggest moment came in the bottom of the fifth inning when David Ross cracked a home run over the leftfield wall. Cubs Radio Engineer Dave Miska described the scene saying, “it was one of the loudest moments I’ve ever heard at Wrigley Field. The whole building began to shake.”
