By Richard Milne

I enjoyed the “sound” of a lot of what we heard on last night’s Local Anesthetic. Mike Hagler at Kingsize always makes a pro recording as evident by La Historia‘s “Fall Right Through”. What’s not to like about the R-O-C-K of Guerilla‘s “Bummer”? Don Ogilvie (Pedal Steel Transmission, Headset) takes a solo turn recording as Stick Season. Joliet trio Riverhorse have released their second side, On a Windy Tree. Definitely check out i.e. Kokoro‘s (aka keyboardist/songwriter/vocalist Kelly Reed) new release Ephemera and the video for “Nequa Valley High School” below. Finally, Well Then and At Least I’m Doing Something brought us home with “Just Because”. That’s all I’ve got for this week. This Sunday night I’ll be talking to Alison Cuddy, Associate Artistic Director of the Chicago Humanities Festival, about their many events starting later this month. Thank you for listening.
