Two unidentified passengers were injured, one of whom was airlifted to a nearby hospital. Local news reports indicate that both passengers are now in serious but stable condition. Subsequent dates Down Under have been canceled.

“The bus was not carrying any passengers at the time and the driver was taken to hospital for mandatory tests. Iero is giving statements to police,” said 9 News.

Bassist Alexander Paul tweeted this update following the crash, and thanked fans for support.

Iero former MCR bandmate Gerard Way also chimed in sending a heartfelt message via Instagram.

Later, My Chem’s official Twitter gave an update saying that two members of the group are undergoing surgery, describing Iero as “banged up pretty badly but is physically ok.”
