Todd Novak and Brett Cross, founders of both Horizontal Action fanzine and HoZac Records, are pictured above. Kind of an older photo. I’m sure they’ve graduated from Old Style to a fine Goose Island brew along with issuing over 200 hundred records in their 10 years running HoZac. How HOriZontal ACtion became HoZac is just part of the story we explored on last night’s Local Anesthetic. I had a lotta questions for the fellas including cash flow problems, the labels archival series and book publishing arm, how much work running even a small indie label takes, challenges in pressing vinyl these days, typical number of copies for any release, reasons for colored vinyl or alternate sleeves, etc. You know; questions that any DJ would have for a successful and storied hometown record label. Very informative conversation with a couple of good guests. The whole show is at the link below. Don’t miss HoZac’s 10th Anniversary event at the Double Door this Saturday night featuring The Gories, Heavy Times, The Sueves,
