Surely many people turned to prayer as the Cubs made their way through the playoffs towards a World Series victory. Turns out, the team had another powerful player in their corner.
Chicago Archbishop Blase Cupich tweeted a picture on Tuesday of himself and Pope Francis holding a Cubs hat and autographed baseball.
“News of the @Cubs win reached all the way to the #Vatican! @Pontifex can now celebrate with us and he asks for our prayers! #FlytheW,” Cupich said.
