Looking Back At The TIme Prince Made A Host Cry On National TV

They weren't tears of pain or suffering, it's because Prince was just too smooth.

Part of Prince's mystique was his personality. Unique would be an understatement.

Back in 2004, he appeared on CNBC alongside journalist Maria Bartiromo where she attempted to get him to play music. After hearing her request, Prince responded by saying, "if I were to play something for you, I'd be your accompaniest and you'd do your thing."

"But I'm not a singer," Bartiromo said. 

Prince quickly shot back "neither am I."


This brilliant exchange is one of many the two have throughout the interview. Despite Prince's best efforts, he was unsuccessful in getting Bartiromo to sing while he played guitar.
