The decade finally started to live up to it's big nickname in 1983 with terrific contributions from the Police, Talking Heads and U2. R.E.M and Violent Femmes came through with impressive debuts and we even got a sequel to a David Bowie classic! Microsoft Word eliminated the need for whiteout (mostly), X rocked the Park West to its disco ball foundations and Chris Wood, reed man with Traffic (who contributed the flute to "1983...A Merman I Should Turn To Be" on Electric Ladyland) died and it wasn't even science fiction! Enjoy everything good, bad, happy and sad that 1983 had to offer this week on Saturday Morning Flashback, starting at 9 AM.
